The personal touch that patients miss so often in our health care system combined with cutting edge treatments within pharmacy makes this an ideal place to work for and for patients to receive their care. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great organization.”

Jeff Scott

Founder, and R.PH., Pharmacist

Jeff started working at Cheek and Scott when he was just twelve years old. Vacuuming the carpets, taking out the garbage, and cleaning the restrooms were his first jobs. By age sixteen, Jeff had worked his way up to delivering medical equipment and by this time had begun considering a career as a pharmacist. Allison Scott, Jeff’s father and owner of Cheek and Scott at that time, encouraged Jeff to pursue a career in pharmacy, which he did. In 1991, Jeff graduated from the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy and returned to Live Oak to work with his father at Cheek and Scott.

In 2000, Jeff bought the business from his father who retired from Cheek and Scott after forty-one years of serving the community. Jeff understands that God is the true owner of Cheek and Scott and has entrusted Jeff with the responsibility of making it a business with an exceptional work environment and matchless customer service.

Jeff is known as an adventurous follower of Jesus Christ, a faithful husband to his wife Melody, and excellent father to their seven children Anda, Jason, Arvis, AnnMarie, Aaron, Jakeb, and Joy.

  T. Allison Scott referred to by all who know and love him as Allison, began his pharmacy career at Cheek Drugs located in the downtown area of Live Oak. Allison, encouraged by his mother, sought a job with Mr. Thomas Cheek who allowed Allison to work as a student after school. Allison became interested in pharmacy as a career and pursued his education in pharmacy at the University of Georgia. After completing pharmacy school, Allison came back to work for Cheek Drugs and soon became a partner in the business which was renamed Cheek and Scott Drugs. Allison’s compassion for people and work ethic were unparalleled. He always had time for questions, concerns, and visits with any customer who needed him. Allison worked long hard hours to build a business of integrity, dignity, and professionalism while keeping the “small-town” atmosphere.

Allison gave his son Jeff the same opportunities he had as a boy; allowing Jeff to work and become interested in the business. Allison was always an encouraging father and a great help to Jeff during his own years in pharmacy school. Allison worked in the pharmacy for thirty-five years and is now retired. Allison is married to “his flower” Elizabeth for 50 years as of 2012. His son Jeff is married to Melody and daughter Julie is married to B.J. Allison is affectionately called Papa by his ten grandchildren who think he is the very best Papa in the world.
